All-new and sporty Modenas CT115S debuts with affordable pricing below RM5,000.
National motorcycle manufacturer Modenas has taken the wraps off its latest edition, the all-newCT115S moped earlier today. The hot new Modenas CT115S made its debut in the swanky Bangsar Shopping Complex today when it was presented by top-teir executives of Modenas and DRB-Hicom.
Built from scratch at the Modenas’ plant in Gurun, Kedah, the CT115S is basically the sportier variant of the CT range. It features an enhanced and more aerodynamic design than the CT100, which was revealed two years ago. The Modenas CT115S is targeted towards riders between the ages of 16 to 35 years old.
Underneath, the Modenas CT115S is powered using a 115cc four-stroke, carburetor engine that develops a maximum output of 8.8hp at 9,000rpm and 8.1Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm. The engine is paired with a four-speed transmission.
The new and sporty moped features a decently-sized 4.8-litre fuel tank, along with a few notable features such as a five-step adjustable Monoshock suspension, an under-seat 12-Volt electrical charging socket for owners to charge devices like smart phones among others, a trailing rear swing arm, two-piston front disc brake system and an electric starter – basically everything you need in a reliable urban daily-ridden moped as such.
Priced below RM5,000 (UPDATE: RM5,330 OTR), Modenas has shared its target of selling 1,500 units of the new CT115S per month. The firm also said that it aims to secure 12 per cent of the “Kapcai” market share by the end of 2015, compared to the current 9 per cent with the CT115S.
The new Modenas CT115S is available in two colours – Blue and Red – and prices will include a two-year or 20,000km warranty plan as well (whichever comes first).
